When you come to the smoke house, you are bringing your guests to the only traditional timber smoke house for seafood in Ireland, and home to the finest smoked Irish smoked salmon, including very rare Irish wild Atlantic salmon. With our recently built Tasting Room, Hederman smoke house now offers a unique venue that we can offer for private use, and corporate events.

 In our first year, as well as numerous small tours & tastings, we hosted some rather larger events: a team strategy meeting and staff night out for Holden PLC; a lunch for a UK garden tour company, Borderlines; a tour and lunch for Irish Distillers who were entertaining journalists and influencers for the launch of 18-year-old Redbreast Irish whiskey. Our courtyard became the morning venue for the demonstration by Ger Buckley, master cooper at the distillery.

With sea and courtyard views, our generously proportioned room is a warm, welcoming, relaxed space that can be adapted to accommodate an intimate dinner party or lunch meeting for 10, a long table for up to 28, and at our maximum seated capacity of 36 people (three tables of eight and one of 12).

We can also offer a courtyard space for use on fine days when people spill outside. In Ireland, we cannot always rely on the weather, but if the forecast is good, we offer attractive wooden pod tables, casual garden seating and outdoor dining if you are so brave! On good days both our private walled garden and courtyard are south facing sun traps, and offer a personal private space that can be yours for your event.

Our Tasting Room is at the heart of our smokehouse, which occupies the same premises as our home, making this an authentic, personal setting. We pride ourselves on professional standards of course, but you will experience a genuine welcome and friendly service with people who have all been working together for a long time.

 We encourage guests who are interested to have a private tour with Frank, but if you simply wish to enjoy the bounty of the Irish coast and our smoke house in a unique local setting, we are happy to enable that. For behind-the-scenes tours, your party needs to wear appropriate PPE, but that becomes part of the fun, and a great equaliser for team meetings!
