Colm O'Gorman
Colm O’Gorman is a Food Columnist with The Irish Examiner.
He began cooking at a very young age, thanks to the influence of his mother who was a bit of a food visionary with a passion for natural foods and ingredients. Colm inherited her passion for great food and cookery. In this professional life he has travelled extensively, always picking up new ideas and cookery techniques in the countries he has been lucky enough to visit.
In his day job, Colm is the Executive Director of Amnesty International Ireland. He is the founder and former Director of One in Four, the national non–governmental organisation that supports women and men who have experienced sexual violence.
Colm has also served as a member of the Irish Senate, having been appointed as a Senator in May 2007. He is a regular media commentator and contributor, writing and speaking extensively on social justice and human rights. He is also the author of a best–selling memoir, Beyond Belief (Hodder & Stoughton 2010).
Colm lives in County Wexford with his family.
Colm is a loyal customer of ours and so when during the Covid lockdown his instagram pages filled with delicious pictures of his recipes to raise funds for Amnesty International, we approached him to write a few for us.
